Inspiration: Women

Started an Inspiration string of posts. This is the first: Women that Inspire Me.

I’m inspired by a lot of people, places, things, and everything in between. I’m inspired by furniture. Architecture. Food. Music. I’m so inspired I decided to blog about it. I’m going to make it as simple as possible and split it between Women and Men first, then later blogs will have food, and interior design because those are my next to major sources of inspiration. So, without further ado, here are the women I’m inspired by and why:

Audrey Hepburn

The only thing other than Nyquil that can put me to sleep when I’m sick is watching Audrey sing Moon River in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. For me, she’s just it. The most beautiful woman inside and out that ever lived. She is the embodiment of femininity and innocence. As I’ve said before, I was basically brought up by men (in other words, me=tomboy) and I had a rougher than usual upbringing. Audrey is such a model for me to be a beautiful woman, and person in general. To maintain that innocence in grace. There will never be another like her.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn and Audrey tend to get grouped together, and I can see why. Even though Marilyn is known as a blonde-bombshell-sex-symbol, there’s also a level of innocence I see in her that shines through. It’s understood she was treated very poorly by many people in her life, especially men, and in the tragedy that some would call her life, I see so much beauty. I think she deserves more credit for being talented, smart, and of course, beautiful. Really beautiful, not just sexy beautiful.

Tina Fey

If I ever get to work in Hollywood, I wanna work with Tina Fey. My God this woman is a genius. She’s hilarious. Smart. Sexy in a geeky kind of way (my favorite kind!) The thing I love about Tina is that scar right under her lip. I am totally self conscious about my lip because it tends to go crooked when I talk, smile, and laugh. Ms. Fey is still hot as hell with that scar, and she makes me feel like I can have that same aura. She’s fearless, willing and able to make herself look like a fool for the sake of comedy, and I admire that. Not to mention she’s funny as shit.

Kaitlin Olson

Kaitlin Olson, like Tina, is fearless and more than willing to look unattractive, stupid, and masculine to make people laugh. And she makes me laugh. Her timing is perfect. Her ability to do physical comedy is making me think she can be this generation’s Lucille Ball.

I LOVE Lucy! Growing up with my mom we didn’t have TV, just about 20 VHS tapes of the I Love Lucy show. I would stay up and watch them all night sometimes, laughing so hard I had to put my head in the pillow as to not wake up my mother. To be honest, most of the time someone tells me to watch a comedy from the 50’s/60’s era, it’s really not funny. Lucy still is. She and her comedy will outlast a lot of the things on television today…

Jennifer Aniston

Ok, she hasn’t done the best movies lately… Or really ever. But I love her. I really do. She seems so down to earth, so sweet, and she can be incredibly talented when she really puts her mind to it. Not to mention she’s Rachel Green. She’s gorgeous, she’s funny, she’s the girl you want to be your friend.

Monica Geller

No, not Courtney Cox-Arquette, but Monica. Growing up I wanted to be Rachel (I was half way there at least!) but now, I can see so clearly I’m SUCH a Monica. And I love it. She’s hilarious. She’s clean. She’s tough. And she married a sarcastic nerd ;)

Emma Stone

This girl is kick ass. She’s young, beautiful, and making really good film choices so far. She’s hilarious. She’s got a deep voice like me, and small boobs like me, and I love it! To have an actress so similar in style and taste doing her job so well is an inspiration for me. She seems like a cool person to hang out with, and I like watching her movies. We’d be friends I think.

Winona Ryder
Photobucket
Someone once told me I looked like Winona Ryder and I think I died from happiness. If her and Johnny Depp would have stayed together they would have such beautiful children that everyone would go blind upon looking at them. When I was four, I was Edward Scissorhands, and I when I was 16, I was Kim. It fit much better. Winona in my opinion is one of the most gorgeous people in Hollywood and she’s a badass. I want someone else to tell me I look like her, and I also want that shirt^.

Yo Landi Vi$$er

Alexander and I saw Die Antwoord this summer at Øya Festival and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. This chick is amazing. She’s like, 4 feet tall, and sounds like a doll. Literally, a children’s doll. She’s tough, she’s crazy, she raps ffs. What more could you want? Must see them live if you ever get the option!

So that wraps it up, these are the women I love, the women I watch. They make me laugh, cry, sing, and want to be in some way a better version of myself. I owe them all a big thanks, because I try to incorporate them into my work, and when I do, I think it gets better.
