First steps
Rachael Ivy Støver (née Young) was born in the small town of Mount Vernon, Washington in 1990. The daughter of an aspiring actor, Rachael was introduced early on to theatre and the arts. At the age of 7, Rachael’s father began giving her lessons in speech and movement to prepare her to audition for the role of Tiny Tim in the community theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol. Before appearing on stage for the first time, Rachael cut her hair short and practiced with a crutch daily. For her audition, Rachael donned full costume and crutch and hobbled on stage, reciting her entire monologue with an attempted British accent. Needless to say, she was given the part.
Early years
After that experience acting became her entire focus. She appeared in three other productions of A Christmas Carol produced by the same theatre company, appearing as The Ghost of Christmas Past twice and Martha Cratchit most recently. Some of the other productions she has been involved in include Our Town in which she played her first lead role, Little Shop of Horrors which tested her voice and dancing abilities, and Tom Jones in which she had her first comedic role. While she was a teenager living in the small town of La Conner Washington, she found it harder to express her creativity and exercise her talents when she wasn’t involved in a production. To help keep her desire for theatre satisfied, she and her friends would get together often and make short films in which she acted in frequently and edited; making herself familiar with various film software.
Here and Now
At the age of 18, Rachael moved to Oslo, Norway to pursue a long distance relationship. In October of 2009, Rachael and Alexander Støver were married in her home town of La Conner.
